NorthEdge has its roots in shipping and the shipping town of Bergen. Since its foundation by a team of highly experienced international brokers in 2001, NorthEdge has expanded its operation to Oslo through the acquisition of Anglo Nordic and EMS Insurance Brokers and in Singapore through the establishment of Oriental Special Risk Services in 2008.

Two of the three operating companies of the group are marine brokers. Together the companies benefit from the skills held by some of the markets’ most experienced and recognized marine teams. The teams’ experience and breadth of competence range from international insurance broking in all classes of marine business, special and contingency risks such as business interuption, kidnap and ransom insurances and various non-honouring/political risks insurances, captive management and reinsurance, to risk consulting.
